and PhD in Physics from Barcelona
University, with Extraordinary
Awards. Humboldt Fellow in Hamburg
and Berlin (Germany),
and SEP Fellow in Japan.
Visiting Scholar/Research Contracts

Professor of Mathematics and Physics at Tarrega and Bellvitge

Since
1993 a member of The Higher Research Council of Spain (CSIC),
where he is a Senior Research Professor and Principal Investigator
of various projects—including
a top rated Consolider one
(group project)—and team leader of both a Consolider-Ingenio
2010 (CPAN) and a European Union
project (CASIMIR).
A special functions expert and a cosmologist,
author of
several of the leading references in the fields of Zeta Functions
and Heat Kernels, and their applications to Theoretical Physics
and Cosmology, and of three well known books published by
Springer Verlag and World Scientific. Catalonia’s top mathe-
matical physicist, according to the two Reports issued by the
Institute for Catalan Studies (in 2000 and 2004), the list of his
former students includes Prof. J. Soto, Dr. A. Romeo,
Prof. S. Gómez, Dr. S. Leseduarte, Dr. S.R. Hildebrandt,
Dr. P. Fosalba, and Prof. E. Gaztañaga, among others.
